The ProVac® valve mechanism uses a unique technology which makes it:

• Very reliable and extremely fast
• Unbreakable, even in the most severe conditions
• Very easy to maintain

Very fast electro-pneumatic closure: about 15 ms
Notes:

• The actuating signal is provided normally by the die-casting machine, at the moment where the plunger reaches a certain position, which usually corresponds to the end of the first injection phase. 
• For special applications, the actuating signal can be provided by a metal front sensor or a very fast temperature sensor placed inside the die, in contact with the liquid metal.
• Recommended for large castings (it ensures that only a small part of the casting remains unfilled when the valve closes). 
• Very favourable for long production runs (a very fine adjustment of the closing position will bring durable advantages). 
  

Characteristics:

• Very high security, since closure is initiated by an electrical signal from the die-casting machine itself. 
• Optimal repeatability in closure. 
• Long lifespan: the valve mechanism is made up of a small number of large and reliable components. 
• Low maintenance: cleaning is easy and quick.  Only the aspiration piston is in contact with impurities that have to be eliminated such as dirt, lubricant etc., and with the aluminium. 
  There is no trigger piston, with the advantages of lower risk of failure due to aluminium flashes, and less heating of the trigger mechanism
• Vacuum runners can be designed to offer either a low projected surface or else particularly high security. 
• Much larger aspiration section than is possible with a metal actuated valve or a chill vent, and hence extremely rapid evacuation.
